Portsea - Birds-Eye view

This unusual commission was undertaken for a collector of mine who usually buys from the Melbourne series. She had an idea to commission a large work for their holiday home as an anniversary gift for her husband whose “other woman” was the Portsea golf club.

She and I did the research together to enable a bird’s eye view of his esteemed pocket of earth wedged between the ocean and the Bay, at Portsea. (just a combination of approaches from two of my major long term series (ocean and city).

I kind of loved doing it and she was delighted with the end result as was the recipient. This is one thing I love about doing commissions: I end up undertaking concepts that I would never have experienced on my own.
