Docklands of Melbourne iii
This collector tried several Melbourne paintings in his office and eventually decided to commission exactly what he wanted which was a view with no “old boats” as he called them (sailing boats), not even the masts of yachts at rest. He wanted a power boat, so against my natural leanings I did exactly that and (as usual when someone pushes me outside of my boundaries ) I really enjoyed the challenge of painting a power boat within the composition. Golds, pearls and bronzes were incorporated to capture the shimmering lights that the afternoon sun casts upon the skyline of the Docklands.
120x90cm, finished with an oak floating frame
