I still remember the exact moment I conceived the Yarra-inspired series of Melbourne paintings, I was standing on the Footbridge with my friend Carla Pompeu,a Brazilan artist (who I had lived near and exhibited with, in Brazil at the time). There had been a lot of development while I was living abroad and she was raving about the beauty of the life around and City the river, it reminded her of Paris and Milan,she said. Since then I have started series of paintings inspired by other cities, but Melbourne holds a place dear in my heart.
